Our 38th Annual KSRP Ride-A-Thon was a wonderful success!  Held Saturday, September 24th, 2016 at the Ionia State Recreation area, 70 riders brought in pledges totaling $14,523!

The 2016 Ride-A-Thon was sponsored by: King Milling Company of Lowell, Carl A. Johnson Post 2 American Legion, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, Valley City Plating, and GR Paddling.

Saturday morning, hot coffee and donuts were waiting for our participants.  Registration began at 9:00 A. M., riders with early registration on Friday night from 6:00 P. M. to 8: 00 P. M. for those who wanted an early start setting out on the trails.  Chili and Croissant sandwiches were served for lunch.  The Jack & Jeff Revue performed live on the Ride-A-Thon stage during the lunch period and the Awards Ceremony began at 3:00 P. M.

The top 6 pledgers in 11 age breaks were awarded a Ride-A-Thon “mason” drinking jar and rosette ribbons.

Our High Pledge Individual this year were Cindy Kling. who brought in $1,590!!

Our High pledge 4H club, Country Cowboys 4H Club has made the Ride-A-Thon an annual club event for over 25 years.  This year, their pledges totaled $2,600.

RJ Riders brought in $1,272, and was named High pledge non-4-H club.

With pledges of $1,560, our High pledge family was the Schumachers.  Not only is Lynn Schumacher our KSRP Program director, but the Schumacher family has donated the use of their farm to KSRP since 1978!

Several participation milestones were hit this year.

Stacy Langlois and Jeanette Overholt – 20 years

Paul Nitschke – 25 years

Rick Roderick – 30 years

Deb Schumacher and Lynn Schumacher – 35 years.

They will receive an embroidered hoodie and Rick and Lynn will receive a chair with the Ride-A-Thon logo to commemorate their faithful participation.

The VandeBunte famly easily won the End of the Trail Award, a prize for the person who traveled the furthest to attend the Ride-A-Thon from Indiana.

Our Youngest Rider was Cecelia Bailey and Nancy Pierce was our Oldest Rider.

The 2016 winner of the $500.00 Grand Prize Drawing was Deb Schumacher!  Deb is an Aide at the program and has been involved with KSRP including letting KSRP use her horses.

Ride-a-Thon Sponsorships!

Our Annual Ride-a-Thon is KSRP’s main fundraiser, producing over 70% of our operating budget.  We are actively seeking sponsors to help offset the costs involved in producing this event.  A $500 Ride-a-Thon sponsorship will get the sponsor’s name and business logo printed on over 200 tee-shirts awarded to Ride-a-Thon participants and volunteers, your logo on the KSRP website including a clickable link to your site, your logo on our Pledge Sheets and all other printed Ride-a-Thon publicity.  KSRP is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) 4-H organization.
